Meet the Natives feature two different groups of men venturing to the U.K. and the U.S. The series theme is reverse anthropology with indigenous tribesmen observing and analyzing Western culture. The men’s observations are sometimes humorous, other times insightful critiques ranging from remarks about being unable to stop the sun from setting in response to a “Botox Party” to questioning why some dogs are pampered and cared for when there are people living on the street.
The men from Tanna experience things like snow, skateboarding or using a trampoline for the first time. Viewers will also wonder how men unfamiliar with the U.S. and U.K. will react to some of the more unique and idiosyncratic parts of these Western cultures from fox hunting with fake foxes to a night out at the local pub to farm practices such as medicating cattle and artificially inseminating pigs.
