Portugal is an incredible country with a lot to offer. It’s greatest treasure perhaps is its warm and welcoming people. Between July 27 and August 10 I traveled the country by road starting at its northern border with Spain all the way down to Lisbon, traveling both along the coast and to cities inland.
I started my journey through Portugal right after walking the Camino de Santiago across northern Spain. I took a bus to from Santiago de Compostela (Spain) to Valenca, a border city in Portugal, where I hoped on to a train to Viana do Castelo. During the trip I also visited Ponte de Lima, Porto, Coimbra, Lousã, Évora, Sintra and Lisbon. My adventures were diverse, from culinary to intellectually stimulating, from awe inspiring to physically challenging.
