The people in Hue were very colourful & friendly, & I was shown many new foods & met lots of new friends along the way. While chilling in the sun one afternoon I met an old woman who told me she was 86, & I managed to persuade her to let me take her picture, as she looked fantastic in the sunlight.
The next evening I met a group of travellers & we set of in search of a particular restaurant somebody had recommended, but the taxi drive knew nothing of it & took us somewhere else. We walked about a while but soon gave up, but much better we stumbled across a groups of Vietnamese having some sort of BBQ food.
We signalled that we would like the same & plates & plates of the stuff arrived.
It was totally delicious & after the second plateful two locals came over to show us how to eat it, as we were just picking at it all, ignoring the skinny pancakes!
You were supposed to pile greenery & salad onto the rice pancake, then dip the Kebab into some sauce & then roll the pancake round the meat leaving it all on the stick - Yeah Right!
It gave us & the restaurant much amusement as we tried to eat like the locals & failed in spectacular style - it was just impossible without spilling it all.
