I just spent the last 60 days walking 1700km across the Islamic Republic of Iran solo. I started on the shores of the Caspian Sea and headed south to the Persian Gulf. I crossed the Central Alborz Mountains, down through the central plateau, through the Zagros Mountains and on to the gulf.
Iran is a beautiful country and its people are the most amazing and friendly that I have met anywhere on earth.
